How-to

Fifteen minutes, every week, with one person

A small, humane, repeatable structure for two people checking in on each other. Same time most weeks, four segments, and a printable agenda.

For the Accountability Partner. 15 minutes a week. Private on this device; nothing is sent anywhere. Not clinical advice.

Who it is for

You have a friend who would do this if you asked, and you have not asked because it sounds like a commitment. It is fifteen minutes. The page is honest that matching is not live yet; this is the structure, and you bring the person.

The short version

  1. Pick the person (the page cannot yet). Someone who will keep the time and not try to fix you.
  2. Pick the slot. Same day, same time, most weeks. "Most" is the word that keeps it alive.
  3. Minutes 0 to 3: one word for the week each. No context.
  4. Minutes 3 to 8: what you said you would do and whether you did. Yes or no, then why if you want.
  5. Minutes 8 to 12: one ask for the coming week. One.
  6. Minutes 12 to 15: what you will do by next time. Write it on the agenda; it is next week’s minute three.
  7. Print the agenda and fill the four minutes in before the call. The written version is the one that survives a bad week.

A worked example

An invented reader, so the mechanics are visible. Your answers will differ.

Week one, your word is "foggy"; theirs is "fine". You said you would book the psych visit; you did not. The ask: "text me Thursday and ask if I booked it." Their ask is unrelated and that is the point; it is not a support call, it is two people. By next time: the visit is booked, because a text on Thursday is easier to answer than a resolution on Sunday.

The one thing

If one of you misses a week, the other sends the one word anyway. The thread matters more than the call.
